Sony/ATV Latin America is proud to announce its world-wide publishing agreement with mega-star Paulina Rubio, whose quick rise to fame earned her the name, “La Chica Dorada,” (the Golden Girl of Spanish Pop).
Paulina’s “Ni Rosas, Ni Juguetes” recently entered Billboard’s Latin charts as the second promotional single off her Gran City Pop album. Meanwhile, the first single, “Causa Y Efecto” remains among the top five of Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart where it has spent over 20 weeks.
Jorge Mejia, Vice President at Sony/ATV Music Publishing for Latin America and US Latin said, “It is an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to work hand in hand with Paulina as she embarks deeper into her career as a songwriter. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome her to the Sony/ATV family.”
Paulina Rubio said, “What an exciting time in my creative life! Interpreting songs has been my tool of self-expression my entire career and gradually I have entered into a wonderful comfort zone of co-writing. Collaborating with talented friends like Estefano, Coti & Rafa Vergara has inspired & given me the confidence to express myself fully through the power of song. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue developing this craft that had always been so important to me, and to work with a team like Sony/ATV.”
In addition to Paulina Rubio, Sony/ATV Latin America is also extremely proud to have signed multiple award-winning songwriter and artist Gian Marco to an exclusive world-wide publishing agreement.
With the ink barely dry on this new deal, Gian Marco’s co-write, “Ni Rosas, Ni Juguetes,” off Paulina Rubio’s Gran City Pop, just hit the airwaves as the album’s second single. Gian Marco also teamed up with Noel Schajris to create, “No Veo La Hora,” the lead single out of Noel’s solo debut album entitled Uno No Es Uno. Gian Marco continues writing and placing songs with top artists, including several on Alejandro Fernandez’s upcoming release.
Gian Marco is widely recognized as Peru’s top artist. His 2008 release, Desde Adentro, has been certified triple platinum in Peru and was recently released in Mexico.
Most recently, Marco picked up a Grammy nomination for the Best Long Form Video category for his release entitled Gian Marco en Vivo desde El Lunario.
Jorge Mejia, Vice President at Sony/ATV Music Publishing for Latin America and US Latin said, “We are thrilled and honored to have Gian Marco join the Sony/ATV family as a key member of our writing team. We look forward to a joint future full of success.”
“It’s a great honor to be a part of the Sony/ATV family and I look forward to a successful venture,” stated Gian Marco.
